NFPL Champion OLe FC joins FCS
Most clubs create a lot of excitement leading into a season when they're defending their title. OLe FC has found a way to create even more excitement by taking their championship reign to a new league!
The Grand Rapids club has long been known for their success and their longevity. Famously there are "generations" of players who have coached up the younger side of the squad through their youth academy. A culture that any club would be proud to produce, Fabian Rodriguez is at the helm of a team that has inspired teams and fans alike.
Aaron Gamez was an important key to that success last season with his lethal offense. As important as his offense is the club, Sammy Esquivel's return to the squad is equally important to their defense. His physically strong play coupled with his mental toughness on the court makes him an important leader in this seasoned squad.
Previously participating in the NFPL, OLe FC has been to the finals three years straight. OLe FC has faced different opponents across those three seasons and stood the test of time. Still, the club is hungry for a fresh challenge. "Our season needs a new look." said Rodriguez, "I'm excited about the competition in the FCS and getting the opportunity to play different teams."
"I love the plan the FCS has in place and believe Jeremy and Jake will help push the men's game forward this season."
Even with a fresh challenge in a new league, Fabian has high expectations for his side: "My expectations on our team are always high and our players are hungry to win another championship. Staying true to our playing style will remain our number one focus. We have the players to take our game to another level this year. We are anxious to get back on the court"
Plenty of teams are waiting in the wings to try and stop their momentum. Can OLe FC continue their winning ways in FCS?
