Midwest United Is Back
Midwest United is a team synonymous with quality in Grand Rapids. Their youth academies and staff represent their great city with quality and professionalism on all stages of the futsal and soccer scenes. Now, they look to make another run at glory in the FCS.
Being the first club to host games outside of Lansing Arena last year, Aquinas College will again be a battleground for FCS teams this year. Looking to make the most of their fortress, the fans are surely going to be a factor that the opposition will have to consider in their pregame prep.
Regardless of the facility, Midwest will surely be a formidable opponent this year. With the likes of Anthony Leon, and team anchor in the net Jose Vicario, this is a team whos talent cannot be ignored. Led by two time Series winner Hector Fernandez, quality can be found from players to staff throughout the organization. This club is a titan of the league and fans will surely expect them to expand on their winning ways and futsal culture this year.
When it comes to Coach Fernandez, he hopes his side's impact expands beyond the lines of the court; "Our team's expectation is to compete in every game, and elevate futsal in the United States." A humble statement from the leader of what is one of the most talented sides The Series has seen to date.
For the fans, will new challenges bring fresh expectations? Or is 2024-25 business as usual for a side that knows how to get the job done?
