BIH Grand Rapids Stops Late Comeback, Making Them 2-0

Final- BIH Grand Rapids 7, Lansing City Futsal 5. A fun game of futsal from both sides of the ball, Grand Rapids played their game perfectly today, scoring on multiple corner kicks played to perfection that City just seemed to have no answer for. BIH would be down 1-0 and 2-1 in this game, but once they got their 3rd goal they never looked back, as they made it 4-2 at the half and finished with 7 goals in total on the night. Don’t fault Lansing City, as their efforts of a almost comeback came true, after a timeout Jeremy Klepal called late in the second half, City got two goals back to make it 5-4, but BIH called a timeout and cleaned up their sloppy play and their lead grew again, leaving Lansing City with a 0-2 record. Ojani Jr Perez had picked up four of the goals for Grand Rapids, while Lance Childers had an amazing game in goal, making many key saves in their victory over the defending FCS champions. When I spoke with Childers he told me “ We got the job done, glad I came out, it was a lot of fun “ and when I asked what he thinks of his team and it being his first game with them he said “ I love it, I love their community, all of it. They were nice, welcoming and everything. Overall a really good group. “. When I spoke with the goalkeeper of Lansing City in his FCS debut, Aidan Messinger he told me “ we are playing a new system, we are just learning it and its getting better over time and we are going to continue to get better over time but just a couple defensive errors but we’ll fix that for the next game and come out harder next game and hopefully get the win. “. Captain Jeremy Klepal had a long speech with the team in the locker room after the game, trying to find answers for why he and his squad are in an 0-2 hole. BIH Grand Rapids are going into their final game of the series before playoffs with a 2-0 record, but they will have to face off with the other undefeated squad in Migos FC in a winner take one seed matchup at 4:30PM EST on December 3rd. Lansing City will be trying to shake off another two goal defeat as they play the spring series title rematch, only this time loser takes the 4th seed heading into playoffs in Mitwest FC at 6:00PM EST on December 3rd. All matches can be found at The Lansing City Arena.
